Our Origin

There have been many versions of the history of the Ijebus written over the years.  Apparently, many authors collected their information from literature search, as well as from mental recollections of respectable elders in Ijebuland.  The following two versions are presented as examples, hoping that they would be read with open minds. 

The first version was prepared in commemoration of the 40th Coronation Anniversary of the currently reigning Awujale of Ijebuland, His Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Sikiru Kayode Adetona - Ogbagba II... click here

The second version was excerpted from a book titled: Itan Ido Ijebu by Dr. Badejo Oluremi Adebonojo, first published in 1990 by John West Publications, Ltd., Lagos, Nigeria.  Some information in this version was also taken from an unpublished manuscript by the same author, who has since died...click here
